NEW YEARS EVE EVE

Yah Yah’s is thrilled that Midnight Woolf will be playing on New Years Eve Eve. The show was originally scheduled for New Years Eve but due to not being able to stay open past 1am into 2013, Yah Yah’s decide to have our little luau a day early so we can play a little later. Melbourne’s finest rock country garage punk rockabilly surf group Midnight Woolf will be headlining the party. The group recently completed a whirlwind tour of Spain, 15 gigs in 16 days !! Midnight Woolf also released their new album "I'll be a Dog". Midnight Woolf features the talented Sanchez brothers, Raul was in Magic Dirt and also fronts River of Snakes, Lluis is a prolific artist, his distinct cartoon style has adorned many poster walls, album covers and more. Also playing on Sunday 30 December is Ballarat’s primitive garage rock and roll band who have a touch of country and surf, the Yard Apes as well Daylesford’s Humbug. Entry is $10 but every payer gets a glass of free champagne (sparkling wine). Cheers… Let’s start counting down to 2013 with the Woolf early!

Local label Off The Hip records is throwing a benefit party to help get Norton back above water!! Featuring live sets from Midnight Woolf, Mesa Cosa, the Reprobettes and Wrong Turn. Plus DJs Wet Wax, Packed Jetty and Atlantis spinning Norton records all night!

Brooklyn, New York, record label Norton Records lost its warehouse to floods following hurricane Sandy. Most of the entire catalogue was destroyed!!

Norton Records is home to many artists, including; Link Wray, the Sonics, the Real Kids, Hasil Adkins, Esquerita, A-Bones (featuring Billy and Miriam – the founders of Norton Records), Untamed Youth, the Flamin’ Groovies, the Dictators, Andre Williams, Nathaniel Mayer, Roky Erickson and literally hundreds more.

Just $10 on the door and all proceeds go to saving the mighty Norton Records.

SPANISH FESTIVAL

You are all aware that tradition runs deep with us and our people, so for the 5th year in a row we will be playing at the OLD BAR for another bash at the Johnston St Spanish fiesta!! We will be joined by Rayon Moon and Hounds Hounds Hounds. So for a night of unbridled passion, sangria drenched madness and paella fuelled idiocy, head on down and have a hoot with COJONES!!!

Thanks for everyone for coming down to our shows on the ACT/NSW tour, we had an amazing time dancing with all you crazy kids! Thanks to all the venues, friends and the great bands we played with, especially Mother and Son and The Yard Apes. Check out Mother and Sons' new LP, it's a killer. 

Here's a somewhat positive review of our Wollongong show. Originality is overrated.

Some band news; we're gonna finish some recordings next month and hopefully have something out in the next couple of months, and we are playing a bunch of shows before and after May.
